Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team at CBS. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in the preparation of the design drawings and calculations for Sprinkler and High and Low Pressure Water Mist Systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of technical sprinkler and high/ low pressure water mist designs.
• BIM / Revit modelling & AutoCAD drawings.
• Completion documentation i.e. certification and drawings.

Person Specification

• Competent in Sprinkler, Low and High Pressure Water Mist designs to BS EN 12845, BS8489, FM5560 standards ensuring compliance with LPCB/ NFPA codes of practice.
• LPCB sprinkler certification preferred.
• AutoCAD/ Revit experience required.
• CSCS/ ECS Card holder preferred.
• You need a solid engineering background, with a comprehensive technical and practical understanding of Water based fire protection systems. This includes the correct methods of installation. You need in-depth knowledge of British and European Standards relating to fire protection systems.
• IT Competent to be able use Microsoft packages (Word, Excel).
• Flexible with working hours and ability to work away from home within the UK and Europe when required.
• Ability to work unsupervised with capability to problem solve.
• Willingness to learn and develop within a growing organisation.
• Full clean UK driving license essential.
